If you work, does your employer have group rates? If you are a senior citizen on medicare you will need insurance to go with it, an HMO can be good too.

  5. If you arent old enough for Medicare HMOs I’d say go with what you have if you can afford it. The best plans depend on what area of the country you live in.

You just need to be sure you can see the primary care physician you prefer, and if you have need for a specialist, is your choice contracted with the HMO you choose.
