  1. sounds like it…..especially because diabetes runs in your family, thats probably what you have. I’m not sure about the prone to infections part though.

  2. It very well could be. You need to see your doctor and take your list and give it to him. He will do some blood work and when the results come in he will be able to tell you if you are or not.
    Good Luck!

  3. It is diabetes.

  4. yeah it probably is. you need to go to the doctors. hope your ok:)

  5. sounds like it i have diabetes type 1 and those are the symptoms i had when i got it you should go to a doctor to get ur blood sugar tested

  6. unfortunately it sounds like you do. My husband was just diagnosed with diabetes 4 months ago and had every sign and it runs on both sides of his family. His grandmother who has it is in shape and doesnt eat junk food but she still managed to get it, so even if your as healthy as a horse you still run the risk of getting it especially if its on both sides.

  7. The symptoms that you are listing here, especially the increased urination, extreme hunger and constant thirst, are the 3 most classic symptoms that nurses and doctors look at when trying to diagnose a person with diabetes. The only definitive way to say yes you have it or no you don’t is to have your sugar checked first thing in the morning, fasting, meaning do not eat or drink anything after you get up in the morning until you can have your sugar checked. Best way to do this is to go to your doctor and have them give you a slip to get your blood drawn at the lab.

  8. Yes, and you could have other symptoms like

    fatigue
    dizzy
    nausea
    headaches
    shaky
    nervousness

And even more reason to get checked out is that your family has it on both sides. Being Hispanic, Asian, Native American all have a tendency to be diabetic easier than others too.

  9. Your symptoms may be signs of diabetes.

When someone urinates a lot and is super thirsty due to undiagnosed diabetes it is because they have ketoacidosis. You can test for this by purchasing ketone reagent strips at your local pharmacy. You do not need a prescription. Pee on the strip. If it changes colors, you need to call your doc immediately!! If it does not change colors, then diabetes is probably not your problem.

It is so strange to me that soooo many people post “Do I have diabetes?” questions here every day (nearly all teenage girls!). Honestly, if you think you have a horrible chronic illness then you see your doctor – you don’t poll strangers.

Also, people are SICK, really truly badly sick before their diagnosis. The people around them notice and comment that something isn’t right. There is clearly a problem that can not be ignored.

Do so many teen girls think they have diabetes because Nick Jonas has it? Do they just want attnetion? Are they hypochondriacs??

IMO – I doubt that you have diabetes. Post here and lete us know after you take the ketone test.

  10. Get a glucose meter & check your blood sugar.
